ChatGPT Search now open to ALL 🌐

OpenAI has announced that its ChatGPT-powered search engine is now available to all users, expanding beyond the initial rollout to paid subscribers in October 2024 ✅ 

This move will challenge traditional search engines like Google by providing real-time, conversational responses with links to relevant web sources. 

The new search feature integrates seamlessly into the ChatGPT experience, offering a streamlined interface that displays search results with images, ratings, and hours for locations like restaurants and local attractions. Users can also access maps and directions directly within the app 🗺️ 

Additionally, the update includes voice search capabilities for users with Advanced Voice Mode enabled, allowing hands-free searches and responses.

This rollout is part of OpenAI's "12 Days of Ship-mas" product launch series, which also introduced other features like the text-to-image model Sora and a new premium subscription tier.

Google’s newest (and unique) AI image generator 🎨 

Google has introduced Whisk, a new AI image generator that allows users to create images using other images as prompts instead of relying solely on text descriptions 🤔 

Whisk enables users to suggest the subject, scene, and style of their desired output by providing multiple images for each element. If users don't have specific images in mind, Whisk can generate sample images as prompts!

Whisk is designed for rapid visual exploration rather than creating highly polished images. It uses the latest iteration of Google's Imagen 3 image generation model, which enhances its ability to interpret visual prompts and generate diverse outputs.

Users can favorite, download, or refine the generated images by modifying the text prompts or providing additional visual cues

This tool is part of Google Labs and is currently available to users in the United States. It aims to make the process of generating AI images more intuitive and accessible.

Meta Glasses get incredible new AI features 🕶️ 

Meta has updated its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses with several new AI-powered features, including real-time AI video and live translation 🤯 

The latest firmware update, v11, allows users to continuously converse with Meta's AI assistant, Meta AI, without needing to use the "Hey, Meta" wake word. This feature, called "live AI," lets wearers ask follow-up questions or change topics seamlessly 🕶️ 

The real-time AI video capability enables the glasses to process what the user is seeing and respond to questions in real-time. For example, users can ask about their surroundings, and the AI will provide relevant information.

Additionally, the glasses now support live translation between English and Spanish, French, or Italian. When conversing with someone speaking one of these languages, users will hear the translation through the glasses' open-ear speakers and see a transcript on their paired phone 📱 

The update also includes Shazam integration, allowing users to identify songs by saying, "Hey, Meta, Shazam this song”.

Grok 2 is now FREE (but there’s a catch) 🤖

Elon Musk's AI company, xAI, has announced that the upgraded Grok-2 chatbot is now available for free to all users on X (formerly Twitter).

Grok-2 is faster, more accurate, and includes new features such as image generation. The company highlighted that Grok-2 is three times faster, with improved instruction-following and multilingual capabilities 🗣️ 

A new "Grok" button has been integrated into the X timeline, enabling users to access real-time insights, explore trending topics, and gain relevant context for posts.

The free version of Grok-2 comes with some limitations: 10 messages every 2 hours and 3 image analyses per day. Premium and Premium+ users will have higher usage limits and early access to new features 👀

   Here’s the prompt I used:

   "I have a screenshot of a Twitter post. Create a reusable React component that includes:

   • Responsive layout matching Twitter's design

   • Interactive like, retweet, and share buttons with hover states

   • Dynamic count updates for engagement metrics

   • Proper spacing and typography using Tailwind CSS
     

   Make sure it looks pixel-perfect compared to the original."
