BREAKING AI NEWS

OpenAI launches ChatGPT Search 🔍️

OpenAI has recently launched a new search feature within ChatGPT, called ChatGPT Search - positioning itself as a direct competitor to Google and other search engines.

Here’s everything you need to know 👇️

  • Real-Time Search: The new feature allows ChatGPT to provide real-time answers by searching the web based on user inquiries. This means users can get up-to-date information on topics like sports scores, stock prices, news updates, and more

  • Enhanced User Experience: ChatGPT can now respond to questions in a more natural, conversational manner, without having to perform multiple searches. 🤔

  • Partnerships with Publishers: OpenAI has partnered with several high-profile publishers, including Condé Nast, Time magazine, and the Financial Times, to ensure that the information provided is credible and reliable. 🌐

Initially, the search feature is available to ChatGPT Plus and Team users, with plans to roll it out to enterprise, educational customers, and free-tier users in the coming months 📆

Meta’s making a robot hand that ‘feels’ touch 🤖

Meta is working on a project to develop a robot hand that can "feel" touch! Here are some key details:

  • Meta is collaborating with GelSight, a sensor firm, and Wonik Robotics, a South Korean robotics company, to commercialize tactile sensors for AI.

  • The centerpiece of this project is Digit 360, a tactile fingertip sensor with human-level multimodal sensing capabilities. It digitizes touch signals using an on-device AI chip and around 18 sensing features to detect changes in its surroundings 🤯

  • It can perceive vibrations, sense heat, and even detect odors 🤔

Digit 360 will be available for purchase next year, with Meta launching a call for proposals to give researchers early access

Google Maps 🤝 Gemini

Google Maps is getting new AI-powered features thanks to Gemini! Here are some of the updates 👇️

  • Enhanced Navigation: Google Maps will now highlight which lane you should be in, making it easier to navigate through unfamiliar areas with multiple lanes, forks, and exits 🛣️

  • Curated Recommendations: Users can ask Google Maps for recommendations on things to do around specific spots. For example, you can ask for "things to do with friends at night" and get a curated list of options like speakeasies or live music venues

  • Detailed Information: The new features will provide more detailed information about parking options near your destination, walking directions from your car, and even augmented reality (AR) walking navigation.

  • Immersive View Expansion: Google Maps' Immersive View feature, which creates a 3D model of a destination, is expanding to 150 cities globally. This feature will launch in cities like Brussels, Kyoto, and Frankfurt 🌐

These updates are rolling out in the U.S. on Android and iOS this week, with plans to expand to other regions in the future!

Claude gets a new desktop app 💻️

Claude, the AI chatbot from Anthropic, has just launched desktop apps for both Mac and Windows. These apps bring Claude's capabilities directly to your preferred work environment, making it easier to interact with the AI without switching devices

Additionally, Claude now supports dictation on iOS, Android, and iPadOS, allowing users to record and upload messages up to 10 minutes long for transcription and response. Pretty similar to ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode 👀

PROMPT OF THE WEEK

🎙️Enhance your public speaking skills with ChatGPT

You can use ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice mode to create a customized simulation of a live audience - offering real-time feedback and follow-up questions to sharpen your public speaking skills.

Here’s a step-by-step 👇️

  1. Download the ChatGPT app and go to Settings to access Custom Instructions.

  2. Set ChatGPT to say "mhm" throughout your speech until you say "Done."

  3. Start a new chat, turn on voice mode, and share your practice prompt to begin.

You are a live audience, and I'm practicing my speech on [your topic]. I will deliver my speech, and after each section, you will ask me a follow-up question, as if you were an audience member seeking clarification or additional information. Provide feedback on my delivery, including my pacing, tone, and whether I'm keeping the audience engaged. Help me adjust my speech based on your feedback.

  4. Present your speech in sections, saying "Done" after each part.

BONUS: Use ChatGPT's custom instructions to prevent interruptions or overly detailed replies.

Feel free to drop a comment and share which guide you'd like to see next 🤝
