NASA’s new AI Earth Copilot 🤖 🌍️

NASA has partnered with Microsoft to create the Earth Copilot, an AI chatbot designed to make it easier to access and understand scientific data about our planet 🌍️

This tool leverages Microsoft’s AI capabilities to simplify the process of analyzing NASA’s vast geospatial data, making it accessible to a broader audience

With Earth Copilot, users can ask questions about various Earth-related topics, such as the impact of natural disasters or changes in air quality, and receive straightforward, digestible answers

This initiative is part of NASA’s Transform to Open Science initiative, aiming to democratize access to complex data and empower diverse audiences.

OpenAI’s Operator agent is coming

OpenAI is reportedly preparing to launch a new AI agent, codenamed “Operator,” in January 2024 📆

This agent is designed to autonomously handle tasks such as writing code, booking travel, and performing other actions on a user’s computer. Initially, it will be available as a research preview through OpenAI’s developer API 🧑‍💻

Sam Altman also said agentic capabilities will “feel like the next giant breakthrough” over simply improving models.

Operator will join a flurry of agent competition, with Anthropic (computer use), Microsoft (Copilot Agents), and Google (Jarvis) working on similar tools 🤔

Google launches Gemini app for iOS worldwide 🌐

Google has officially launched its Gemini app for iOS devices worldwide. This new app allows iOS users to interact with Google’s AI-powered assistant, Gemini, directly from their iPhones.

Previously, users had to access Gemini through the Google app or mobile web.

The Gemini app supports text-based prompts in 35 languages and includes the Gemini Live feature, which allows for conversational interactions in 12 languages.

Additionally, users can generate images using Google’s Imagen 3 model and access information from other Google services like Gmail, Maps, and Calendar through extensions

YouTube’s NEW AI feature for creators

YouTube has introduced a new feature allowing select creators in the U.S. to remix songs using AI prompts

This feature enables creators to describe how they want to change the style of a song, generating a 30-second snippet that can be used in their Shorts. The remixed sound snippet will be attributed to the original song and clearly labeled as AI-modified 🎵

This new capability builds on YouTube's Dream Track feature, which was launched in November 2023 and allows users to create tracks by humming a tune.

The initiative aims to help artists and creators stretch their imaginations and enhance their creative processes

ChatGPT can now read your Mac’s desktop apps 📱

OpenAI has announced that ChatGPT can now read and interact with some of your Mac’s desktop apps.

This new feature, called “Work with Apps,” allows ChatGPT to read code in developer-focused apps like VS Code, Xcode, TextEdit, Terminal, and iTerm2.

This means developers no longer need to copy and paste their code into ChatGPT; instead, the app can automatically send the code you’re working on to ChatGPT for context

Currently, this feature is available to Plus and Teams users, with plans to roll it out to Enterprise and Education users in the coming weeks.

Visualize your chat history with Claude 🤖

Claude allows you to create visual timelines of the conversations you’ve had.

This means, you can summarize complex points when conversations get too lengthy.

Here’s a step-by-step 👇️

  1. Visit Claude AI and create an account.

  2. Start by having a lengthy conversation about your project.

  3. When ready, simply type in the prompt:

"Create a mermaid timeline rundown of this chat. Provide at least three sentences explaining each key discussion point. Skip errors and start from the first chat, focusing on the most important parts. Include the chat content, actions taken, and the purpose of each section. Make sure it displays visually in the code preview."

  4. Go through your generated timeline and use it to recap, share, or analyse the chat progress of your project.

Feel free to drop a comment and share which guide you'd like to see next 🤝
