Microsoft ramps up efforts to compete with OpenAI 🥊 

Microsoft is intensifying its AI development to compete with OpenAI, despite their long-standing collaboration.

Reports suggest Microsoft is creating its own advanced AI models, such as the MAI family, which rival OpenAI's offerings. The company is also exploring alternative AI models from xAI, Meta, Anthropic, and DeepSeek to potentially replace OpenAI's technology in its products like Copilot.

This shift comes amid tensions, as OpenAI reportedly declined to share technical details about its models with Microsoft 👀 

Microsoft has invested around $14 billion in OpenAI but is now focusing on AI self-sufficiency, led by Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of DeepMind. The company plans to release its models through APIs later this year, signaling a strategic move to reduce reliance on OpenAI and foster innovation ✅ 

Ex-OpenAI scientist’s path to ASI is certain 👀 

Former OpenAI chief scientist Ilya Sutskever has embarked on a groundbreaking journey toward artificial superintelligence (ASI) with his startup, Safe Superintelligence Inc. (SSI). 

The company is reportedly raising $2 billion at a valuation of $30 billion, despite having no revenue or public-facing product. Sutskever has described his approach as "a different mountain to climb," signaling a novel path to ASI that diverges from traditional AI development 🤔 

SSI operates with a lean team of just 20 employees and has no immediate plans for commercial products, focusing solely on achieving superintelligence. This bold strategy has attracted significant investor interest. Sutskever's vision could redefine the roadmap to ASI and its implications for the future ✅ 

Apple’s smart home hub delayed due to Siri 👀 

Apple's anticipated smart home hub has been delayed due to challenges with its upgraded Siri features. The hub, initially expected in March 2025, relies on a more personalized Siri powered by Apple Intelligence 🧠 

However, Apple announced that these features will take longer to develop and are now slated for release in the coming year. 

The smart home hub, featuring a six-inch touchscreen for video calls and smart device management, was designed to be voice-controlled. Despite the delay, Apple has initiated internal testing, allowing employees to provide feedback.
