Humane shuts down AI Pin, sells assets to HP 👀

Humane, the startup behind the AI Pin, is officially discontinuing the device and selling its assets to HP for $116 million. The AI Pin, designed as a screen-free alternative to smartphones, failed to meet expectations and received negative reviews. As a result, all AI Pin devices will cease functioning after 3 PM ET on February 28, 2025 😬

HP will acquire Humane’s AI platform, CosmOS, along with 300+ patents and pending applications. Founders Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno will join HP to integrate AI into the company’s products.

Users must download important data before the shutdown, as all cloud-stored content will be permanently erased.

This acquisition signals HP's push to expand its AI capabilities and develop next-generation AI-driven devices.

What impact do you think this will have on the future of AI wearables? 🤔

Google brings "Circle to Search" like feature to iPhone 📱

Google is rolling out a new visual search feature for iPhone users, similar to Android’s "Circle to Search." This update enables users to search directly from their screen using Google Lens, making information retrieval more seamless. 🔍

Users can draw, highlight, or tap on their screen to search—no need to take a screenshot or open a new tab 📱

The feature is available via the three-dot menu in Chrome or the Google app under "Search Screen with Google Lens." A Lens icon will be added to the address bar soon for quicker access.

Google Lens will now provide detailed explanations and relevant web links for objects identified in searches.

This feature will be rolling out this week for English-language users in regions where AI Overviews are supported
