BREAKING AI NEWS
Google’s reveals it’s “most powerful single-GPU” model yet 🤖

Google has unveiled Gemma 3, which it describes as the most powerful AI model capable of running on a single GPU or TPU. Here are some highlights:
Performance: Gemma 3 outperforms competitors like Meta's Llama-405B and DeepSeek-V3 in single-GPU benchmarks. It supports advanced text, image, and short video analysis.
Multilingual Support: The model is compatible with over 140 languages, making it highly versatile for global applications.
Efficiency: Optimized for devices ranging from smartphones to workstations, Gemma 3 introduces quantized versions for faster performance with reduced computational demands.
Expanded Context: With a 128,000-token context window, it can process large amounts of information, enabling complex tasks.
Safety Features: Includes ShieldGemma 2, an image safety classifier, to filter explicit, violent, or harmful content.
This model is part of Google's effort to make AI more accessible and efficient for developers and researchers ✅
Gemini personalizes its answers based on your search history 😳

Google has introduced a new feature for its Gemini AI assistant called "personalization." This feature allows Gemini to tailor its responses based on your Google Search history, provided you opt in ✅
When enabled, Gemini analyzes your queries and determines if referencing your search history can enhance its responses. For example, if you ask for restaurant recommendations, it might consider your recent food-related searches to provide suggestions 👀
Beyond Search, Gemini will soon connect with other Google apps like Photos and YouTube to offer even more personalized insights.
Users have full control over this feature. You can disconnect your search history at any time, and Gemini will display a banner indicating when it's using your saved data.
The feature is rolling out to Gemini and Gemini Advanced subscribers on the web and will soon be available on mobile. It supports over 40 languages and is accessible in most countries, excluding the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the U.K.
Snapchat’s new AI-powered video lenses 😎

Snapchat has introduced AI-powered video lenses exclusively for its Platinum subscribers. These lenses, called AI Video Lenses, use Snapchat's in-house generative video model to create interactive and animated effect 🕶️
Snapchat plans to release new AI-powered lenses every week, with only 3 being currently available:
Raccoon: Animates raccoons scampering around the user.
Fox: Features a fox snuggling on the user's shoulder.
Spring Flowers: Creates a zoom-out effect, revealing the user holding a bouquet of flowers.
Users can select a lens from the app's carousel, capture a Snap, and let the AI process the video in the background. The final video is saved to Memories for sharing.
These lenses are available only to Snapchat Platinum subscribers, the app's premium tier 👀
OpenAI calls DeepSeek ‘state-controlled’ 🤔
OpenAI has raised concerns about the Chinese AI lab DeepSeek, describing it as "state-subsidized" and "state-controlled." In a policy proposal, OpenAI recommended that the U.S. government consider banning models produced by DeepSeek and other organizations supported by the People's Republic of China (PRC) 🤔
OpenAI claims that DeepSeek's models, including its R1 "reasoning" model, are insecure due to Chinese laws requiring compliance with government data requests. This could pose risks such as intellectual property theft and privacy violations ☠️
DeepSeek's open models, hosted by companies like Microsoft and Amazon, reportedly lack mechanisms for government data siphoning. However, OpenAI's allegations mark an escalation in its criticism of the lab.
DeepSeek, a spin-off from a quantitative hedge fund, has gained prominence recently. Its founder, Liang Wenfeng, met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, further fueling speculation about its ties to the PRC 👀
