ChatGPT goes Gen Z? 👀 

OpenAI has introduced a new feature for ChatGPT that allows users to customize their interactions by assigning traits like "chatty" and "Gen Z".

This update is part of a revamped custom instructions menu, where users can specify a preferred name, profession, and other personal details. The feature aims to provide more personalized and engaging responses by tailoring the chatbot's style and tone to the user's preferences ✅ 

This new customization option is separate from ChatGPT's memory feature, which lets users explicitly tell the chatbot to remember or forget certain information. The custom instructions use prompt engineering to guide ChatGPT's responses, ensuring they align with the user's specified traits.

Your search history to podcast? 🎙️ 

Google is testing an experimental AI feature called "Daily Listen" that creates a personalized podcast using your Search and Discover feed history 🎙️ 

Daily Listen works by referencing your search data and Discover feed interactions to assess which news articles would be of most interest to you. It then summarizes those stories and topics into a roughly five-minute audio overview. The podcast includes a text transcript and audio scrubber controls, allowing users to play, pause, mute, rewind, or skip to the next story.

To access Daily Listen, users need to opt-in to the experiment via the Search Labs icon in the Google app. Once activated, the feature appears in the personalized widget carousel beneath the Search bar ✅ 

This feature is currently available to Android and iOS users in the US through Google's Search Labs.

Perplexity x Tripadvisor 🤝 

Perplexity has partnered with Tripadvisor to enhance its travel planning capabilities. This collaboration integrates Tripadvisor's extensive travel resources, including over one billion reviews and contributions, AI-generated summaries, and more than 300,000 travel experiences from Viator 🧳 

Now, when users search for hotels on Perplexity, they will see a neatly organized list of hotels with summaries, ratings, and images sourced from Tripadvisor. For example, a search for "hotels in Madrid for a business trip" might highlight Hotel Regina for its central location, exceptional service, and rich breakfast offerings ✅ 

This partnership aims to provide personalized, actionable recommendations to simplify and enrich the trip-planning process. The integration is currently live on Perplexity's website and will soon be available on its mobile app 📱 

Grok to get an “unhinged mode” 👀 

Elon Musk's AI chatbot, Grok, is set to introduce an "Unhinged Mode" that promises to deliver responses that are intentionally offensive, inappropriate, and controversial 👀 

This mode is designed to mimic an amateur stand-up comic who is still learning the craft. The mode isn't live yet, but it aligns with Musk's vision for Grok to be edgy and unfiltered.

When Musk announced Grok roughly two years ago, he pitched the chatbot as edgy, unfiltered, and anti-“woke”—in general, willing to answer controversial questions other AI systems won’t. He delivered on some of that promise, but is planning to take it to the next level.
