FRESH AI NEWS
Apple’s shatters expectations, but… 📱

Apple's latest earnings report presents a mixed picture. The company achieved a 4% increase in overall revenue, reaching $124.3 billion for the first quarter of 2025. This growth was driven by strong performances in the Mac, iPad, and services segments, with Mac and iPad revenues growing by 15% each.
Apple's services, including Apple TV+, Apple Music, and iCloud, saw a 14% increase, contributing significantly to the overall revenue.
However, iPhone sales fell short of expectations, with a notable 11.1% decline in China, bringing revenue down to $18.51 billion in that region. This decline is attributed to increased competition from domestic manufacturers like Oppo and Vivo, as well as inventory challenges and the absence of Apple Intelligence in China.
Despite these challenges, Apple reported a net income of $36.33 billion, up 7.1% from the same period last year.
CEO Tim Cook highlighted that markets with Apple Intelligence saw stronger year-over-year performance for the iPhone 16 family compared to those without it.
Overall, analysts have responded positively to the earnings report, noting that Apple beat expectations in several key categories despite facing headwinds.
DeepSeek’s another BIG milestone ✅

DeepSeek, the Chinese AI chatbot, has achieved a significant milestone with its Android app reaching the No. 1 spot on the Google Play Store in the US.
This comes just days after the app also clinched the top spot on the Apple App Store. Since its launch in mid-January, the DeepSeek app has been downloaded over 1.2 million times on the Play Store and over 1.9 million times on the App Store worldwide.
The actual number of installs could be higher, as the app has a label indicating over 5 million downloads on the Play Store.
While DeepSeek is currently ruling the charts, it faces the challenge of reaching 300 million weekly users to overtake OpenAI's ChatGPT for a long-term lead in the chatbot market. The app's success has also caught the attention of startups like Perplexity and Gloo, which are integrating DeepSeek into their platforms.
Google releases a new model (in silence) 🤫

Google has taken a low-key approach to announce its next-generation flagship AI model, Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental.
Instead of a grand reveal, the company disclosed the model in a changelog for its Gemini chatbot app.
This new model is designed to provide better factuality and stronger performance for coding and mathematics-related tasks. It aims to help users tackle advanced coding challenges, such as generating specific programs from scratch, and solving complex mathematical problems, like developing statistical models or quantum algorithms ✅
The model is available to Gemini Advanced users and is part of Google's Google One AI Premium paid plan. It can also be accessed through Google's Gemini for Google Workspace add-ons.
Apple Intelligence getting more languages soon 🗣️
Apple has announced that its AI suite, Apple Intelligence, will support more languages starting in April.
This update will likely be part of the iOS 18.4 release. The new languages include French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and simplified Chinese. Additionally, localized English versions will be available for India and Singapore ✅
OpenAI found evidence against DeepSeek 🤔
OpenAI has found evidence suggesting that its models were used to train DeepSeek, a Chinese AI startup.
The investigation, conducted by OpenAI and Microsoft, revealed that large amounts of data were being exfiltrated through OpenAI developer accounts in late 2024, which are believed to be linked to DeepSeek 👀
The technique in question is known as "distillation," where developers use outputs from larger, more advanced AI models to train smaller, more efficient ones. While this method is common in AI development, using it to create competing models is a violation of OpenAI's terms of service.
OpenAI's GPT-4 model, which cost over $100 million to train, is an example of a large and complex AI system. DeepSeek's R1 model, developed at a fraction of the cost, has achieved capabilities comparable to those of OpenAI's models.
This situation has raised concerns about intellectual property theft and the ethics of how AI companies gather and use data. OpenAI is working closely with the US government to protect its intellectual property and prevent similar incidents in the future 🛡️

Now you can use Claude Artifacts to create fully functional web app prototypes just by uploading screenshots or photos, bringing your ideas to life in minutes ✅
Here’s how to get started 👇️
Simply head to Claude from your browser or mobile app.
Now simply upload a clear screenshot or photo of your design that you want to replicate 🖼️
Upload and type a detailed prompt requesting a React prototype with your choice of specific features and style.
Here’s the prompt I used:"I have a screenshot of a Twitter post. Create a reusable React component that includes:
Responsive layout matching Twitter's design
Interactive like, retweet, and share buttons with hover states
Dynamic count updates for engagement metrics
Proper spacing and typography using Tailwind CSS
Make sure it looks pixel-perfect compared to the original."
Improve your prototype by requesting additional functionality and refinements ✅
