BREAKING AI NEWS

Apple faces new lawsuit over Apple Intelligence delays 👀

Apple is facing a lawsuit over delays in rolling out its AI-powered features, collectively known as Apple Intelligence 🤖

The lawsuit, filed in a U.S. District Court in San Jose, California, accuses Apple of false advertising and unfair competition. It claims that Apple misled consumers by heavily promoting advanced AI features, such as a more personalized Siri, which were not available at the time of the iPhone 16's release 😬

The plaintiffs argue that Apple's advertisements created a "reasonable consumer expectation" that these features would be accessible upon purchase. However, many of these capabilities have been delayed, with some now expected to launch as late as 2026. The lawsuit seeks class-action status and damages for customers who bought devices based on these promises 📱

Apple has reportedly removed some of the ads promoting these features and added disclaimers to its website. However, critics say this action came too late, as the ads had already influenced millions of consumers to upgrade their devices.

Google improves Gmail’s search with AI 📧

Google has rolled out an AI-powered update to Gmail's search functionality, aiming to make finding emails faster and more efficient

Previously, Gmail displayed search results in chronological order based on keywords. With this update, Gmail now considers factors like the recency of emails, most-clicked messages, and frequent contacts to prioritize the most relevant emails at the top of search results 🔍️

Users can toggle between "Most Relevant" and "Most Recent" search results, offering flexibility for those who prefer chronological order.

This feature is currently available globally for personal Google accounts on both the web and Gmail apps for Android and iOS. Google plans to expand it to business users in the future.

Claude can finally search the web now 🌐

Anthropic has introduced a significant update to its chatbot, Claude, enabling it to search the web in real time. This feature is currently available in preview mode for paid users in the U.S., with plans to expand access to free users and other countries soon

The web search capability is exclusive to Claude's latest model, Claude 3.7 Sonnet. Users can activate it through their profile settings, allowing Claude to incorporate real-time information into its responses. When using web search, Claude provides direct citations, making it easier for users to verify sources 📈

This update brings Claude in line with other AI chatbots like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini, which already offer web search features.

Anthropic had previously positioned Claude as a "self-contained" model, but competitive pressures likely influenced this shift 👀

Nvidia’s open-source reasoning models 🤖

Nvidia has made significant strides in AI reasoning with its open-source initiatives. At the GTC 2025 conference, Nvidia unveiled Dynamo, an open-source inference framework designed to enhance the deployment of generative AI and reasoning models.

Dynamo optimizes GPU usage, boosts inference performance, and reduces operational costs, making it a cost-effective solution for AI applications

Additionally, Nvidia introduced the Llama Nemotron family of reasoning models. These models are designed to improve multistep reasoning, coding, and decision-making tasks. They are available in various configurations, such as Nano, Super, and Ultra, catering to different deployment needs. These models aim to provide a robust foundation for creating advanced AI agents 📈
